MET protein is not present in normal thyroid follicles, but a moderate expression of MET protein is observed in non-neoplastic thyroid diseases, such as Graves’ and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis [51], some cases of adenomatous goitre, follicular adenoma, and hyperfunctioning goitre [48], which is consistent with our study results. This evidence concerns the gene MET and follicular thyroid adenoma.
