PDXs derived from HCC patient samples have been utilized for in vivo pharmacological tests of of several drugs, including anti-VEGF antibody bevaciumab [34], mTOR inhibitors sirolimus [35] and everolimus [36], dual inhibitor of VEGFR and FGFR brivanib [37], sorafenib [35, 38, 39], EGFR inhibitor gefitinib [13], MEK1/2 inhibitor AZD6244 [39, 40], VEGFR and PDGFR inhibitor sunitinib [38, 41], VEGFR-2 and C-MET inhibitor foretinib [42], FGFR, VEGFR and PDGFR inhibitor dovitinib [43].
