The differential diagnoses of hepatic cystic lesions include simple cysts, parasitic cysts, mucinous cystic neoplasms, congenital cystic dilatation, degenerated metastatic tumors, mucin producing metastatic tumors, cystic hemangioma, lymphangioma, hepatic foregut cyst, and mesenchymal hamartoma and teratoma [5–7]. This evidence concerns the gene MUC5AC and metastatic neoplasm.
