The combination of carbonic anhydrase-IX (CA-IX) and H-HPV testing had a sensitivity of 97% for significant cervical lesions (reflecting the presence of CIN2, CIN3, AIS, or invasive carcinoma), 100% for glandular lesions (adenocarcinoma in situ and adenocarcinoma), and 93% for significant squamous lesions (CIN2, CIN3, or squamous cell carcinoma) in Japanese women [27]. This evidence concerns the gene CA9 and androgen insensitivity syndrome.
