In this study, we discovered that the fatty acid binding protein 3 (fabp3) gene was involved in hepatic steatosis by using DNA microarray and two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) analyses of DIO-zebrafish, and the knockdown of e2f transcription factor 8 (e2f8) suppresses the development of hepatic steatosis via downregulation of fabp3 in DIO-zebrafish. This evidence concerns the gene FABP3 and fatty liver disease.
