Dexamethasone and clarithromycin suppressed the protein levels of CC chemokine ligand (CCL) 5/regulated upon activation normal T cell expressed and secreted (RANTES) (Fig. 6d) in culture supernatants, and mRNA expression of CCL17/thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC) (Fig. 6e), CCL22/macrophage-derived chemokine (MDC) (Fig. 6g), CXC chemokine ligand (CXCL) 5/epithelial neutrophil-activating peptide-78 (ENA-78) (Fig. 6h) and CXCL9/monokine induced by interferon-γ (MIG) (Fig. 6i) in sinonasal mucosa, from CRSsNP and eosinophilic and non-eosinophilic CRSwNP patients in similar extent. This evidence concerns the gene CCL5 and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
