The distinction between a BRCA1 and a BRCA2 mutation depended on four factors: ovarian cancers favored BRCA1 mutations (p = 0.00011) while male breast cancers (p = 0.0045), prostatic cancers (p = 0.012) and pancreatic cancer (p = 0.022) were more frequent in BRCA2 mutated families. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and prostate carcinoma.
