For subjects who developed preeclampsia, the GW1 sample was collected, on average, 10.2 weeks before preeclampsia diagnosis while collection at GW2 was a mean of 6.99 weeks prior to diagnosis, suggesting that sFlt1-1 may be as predictive as VEGFR-1 at least three weeks earlier. The gene discussed is FLT1; the disease is preeclampsia.
