The results of this study show that deficits in hippocampal LTP in the MK801-animal-model of psychosis are associated with elevations in neuronal excitability that are accompanied by changes in GABA-receptor expression in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex, along with increased GluN2B-expression in the dentate gyrus. The gene discussed is GRIN2B; the disease is psychotic disorder.
