Several authors have noted that COX2 is involved in several neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease (Teismann et al., 2003), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Almer et al., 2001), schizophrenia (Müller et al., 2004) and AD (Pasinetti and Aisen, 1998; Hoozemans and O’Banion, 2005). This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and Alzheimer disease.
