Detailed exploration of the precise molecular mechanisms of MAPK7 dysregulation was outwith the scope of our work here, however our data do suggest that dysregulated MAPK7 may provide a further level of disease segmentation within squamous cell lung cancer, which crucially, is a disease with high unmet need and currently has no approved targeted therapeutics [25]. The gene discussed is MAPK7; the disease is squamous cell lung carcinoma.
