Normalized by the β-actin, in the group with “ age under 34 years”, “age between 34 and 60” and “all samples”, the expression level of IGFBP6 was down-regulated by 53.7%, 42.4% and 47.8%, respectively, in HIV/AIDS patients relative to normal controls (Fig. 5a, P < 0.001, two sided Mann-Whitney U test) while SATB2 was down-regulated by 87.8%, 95.9% and 94.3%, respectively (Fig. 5b, P < 0.001).
