The pool of both cohorts displayed the same distribution with significantly diminished circulating levels of EGF and of the chemokine MIP-1β/CCL4 in patients with progressive forms of MS than in RR-MS patients (EGF: 87±71 vs 50±54, p = 0.0005; MIP-1β/CCL4: 141±79 vs 93±67, p = 0.0002) (Fig 2). The gene discussed is EGF; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
