Epithelial keratins KRT6B, KRT6C, and KRT78 were downregulated 8.3, 5.6, and 6.1 fold, respectively, in EoE, whereas the keratin pseudogene KRT16P2 was the only keratin-related gene that was upregulated (2.8 fold) in disease (Fig 7A). This evidence concerns the gene KRT16P2 and eosinophilic esophagitis.
