In this regard, it is of interest to note that inhibition of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6), the major tubulin deacetylase, increased the amount of acetylated tubulin and concomitantly stimulated vesicular transport of brain-derived neurotrophic factor in neuronal cell lines and compensates for the transport deficit in Huntington’s disease models [37].
