TNF and cervical carcinoma: Recent meta-analysis demonstrated that TNF-α –308G/A is a risk factor for developing cervical cancer [11] and breast cancer [12] in contrast to CRC.[13] Some studies demonstrated the lack of association between –308G/A polymorphism in TNF-α and risk of CRC.[14–16] However, to the best of our knowledge, the distribution of –308G/A polymorphism in TNF-α among Bulgarian CRC patients was not explored previously.
