Recently, several Genome Wide Association Studies (GWAS) involving prostate cancer patients of Caucasian and East Asian descent identified a genetic variant (SNP rs6465657) of Lemur Tyrosine Kinase 2 (LMTK2), leading to decrease in its mRNA expression, to be associated with prostate cancer [29–32]. This evidence concerns the gene LMTK2 and prostate cancer.
