Notably, decreased red cell mass parameters (total RBC, Hb, and PCV), marginal elevation of red cell size parameters (MCV, MCH, and RDW) and increased total leucocyte count which suggest macrocytic anemia and secondary bacterial infection in the untreated tumor-bearing rats, were significantly modulated by F3 (p <0.05), while the mean Hb concentration and RDW were improved towards normal values (although not statistically significant). This evidence concerns the gene GSTM1 and bacterial infectious disease.
