An experimental study demonstrated that transferring CD8+ T cells isolated from the spleen of wild type (WT) and IL-10 KO mice into immunodeficient Rag KO recipients, that is, mice with no mature B or T cells, did not induce colitis, whereas transferring CD8+ T cells from VDR KO mice led to colonic inflammation, and transferring CD8+ T cells from IL-10/VDR KO mice led to fulminant colitis. Here, IL10 is linked to colitis.
