In the present study, we showed that blocking BDNF signaling in colon by intracolonic preadminstration of TrkB/Fc largely attenuated the IBS-D FSN-induced enhancement of abdominal muscular response to CRD in mice, which confirmed the notion that increased BDNF in gut contributes to IBS-like visceral hypersensitivity6. The gene discussed is NTRK2; the disease is irritable bowel syndrome.
