CSPG4 and melanoma: The CSPG4-specific mAb 225.28S was shown to inhibit the growth and recurrence of melanoma in mice grafted with CSPG4-expressing human melanoma cell lines (16) and the antibodies induced by a mimotope vaccine (anti-225D9+-TT Abs) directed against CSPG4 were capable of inhibiting melanoma cell growth in a SCID mouse model (18,19).
