Together with the fact that DNMT3B expression was higher in FLT3-ITD-positive vs. FLT3-ITD-negative patients (not shown), this points to FLT3-ITD induced upregulation of DNMT3B or upregulation of DNMT3B by another yet uncharacterized pathway is a poor prognostic factor in normal karyotype AML. This evidence concerns the gene FLT3 and acute myeloid leukemia.
