As EGFR signaling is one of the most well-known therapeutic targets and autocrine signaling has increasingly been implicated in the regulation of stem cell self-renewal and tumorigenicity of various malignancies, including gliomas [26–29], we tested the possibility that autocrine signaling in GSCs plays a part in the regulation of the self-renewal property of EGFRvIII+ infiltrative GSCs. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and glioma.
