The G allele of CYP1B1 (c.1294C>G) presents a gain of activity compared to the wild-type isoform [7, 22], therefore, we speculated that the variant allele of CYP1B1 may increase EAL risk by inducing the formation of quinones and reactive oxygen species; however, our results show that the GG genotype is associated with a decreased risk of AML. Here, CYP1B1 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
