Among females (Table 3), MetS was significantly related with low adiponectin, obesity, IR, sarcopenia and physical inactivity; however, only IR (OR=4·96; 95 % CI 1·95, 12·6) and sarcopenia (OR=3·61; 95 % CI 1·10, 11·9) remained significantly associated with higher odds of MetS in the model with full adjustments. This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and metabolic syndrome.
