Recent reports describe a role for several members of the bromodomain and extraterminal (BET) protein family, including bromodomain-containing proteins BRD2, BRD3 and BRD4, in the maintenance of aberrant chromatin states in AML, ALL, myeloma and lymphoma [2], [3], [4], [5]. The gene discussed is BRD3; the disease is acute myeloid leukemia.
