CDKN2A and pancreatic neoplasm: Using a panel of 6 candidate genes, UCHL1, NPTX2, SARP2, ppENK, CDKN2A and RASSF1A, Park showed that while all gene promoters were differentially methylated between patients with pancreatic cancer and healthy controls, only one gene promoter, CDKN2A, was differentially methylated between patients with pancreatic cancer and those with chronic pancreatitis, a known risk factor for pancreatic cancer (Park et al., 2012).
