Previous studies done in different cancer cell lines, like epidermoid carcinoma cells and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, showed that upregulation of NF-κB activation can result cisplatin resistance either by influencing expression of Bcl-2 family members or MAPK signaling pathways and regulating chromatin remodeling (30, 31). This evidence concerns the gene BCL2 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
