Sgt1 interacts with Hsp90 and functions as a cochaperone of Hsp90.3, 6, 11, 17, 21 Sgt1 is involved in stability of Polo, Mis12 complex and Scribble that are required for centrosome maturation, proper kinetochore assembly or HGF-mediated epithelial morphogenesis, respectively.11, 17, 21 Therefore, we hypothesized that Sgt1 may be involved in stability of the oncofusion proteins that are essential for the proliferation of cancer cells. The gene discussed is SUGT1; the disease is cancer.
