TGFB1 and breast cancer: As reported by the authors in [42], the apoptotic signalling induced by bisphosphonates is more enunciated in aggressive breast cancer cells while this effect is mitigated in low and non-tumourigenic cells; hence, this differentiated tumoural action causes bisphosphonates to contrast the effects due to overproduction of TGF-β and, at the same time, it supports the suitability of the bisphosphonates for a pharmacological intervention on patients with breast cancer [14].
