As shown, infection with 50 MOI of the Kim53ΔYopJ strain, but not with the Kim53 derivative lacking YopH, resulted in increased levels of KC and MIP-2 mRNA and protein in MH-S cells (Fig 4A and 4B) and of MIP-2 and G-CSF mRNA and protein in TC-1 cells (Fig 4C and 4D).
