Steatosis with abnormal VLDL secretion has been observed in several mouse models: mice fed a methionine- and choline-deficient (MCD) diet [27], liver-specific microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP)-knockout mice [28], mice heterozygously expressing the ApoB 38.9 mutant [29], methionine adenosyltransferase 1A-knockout mice [30] and glycine N-methyltransferase-knockout mice [31]. This evidence concerns the gene GNMT and steatosis.
