Our data indicate that the VEGFR-2 activating pathway with the ligands VEGF-C and VEGF-D and the phosphorylated receptor forms pVEGFR-2Tyr1175 and pVEGFR-2Tyr1214 is closely involved in events affecting tumor cells themselves as well as components of the tumor microenvironment related to blood supply, angiogenesis and inflammatory response in colon carcinoma. This evidence concerns the gene KDR and neoplasm.
