In our previous study, NaSal was shown to suppress a 5-HT-induced increase in the frequency of GABAergic spontaneous inhibitory postsynaptic currents (sIPSCs) in the inferior colliculus [24], suggesting that the modulatory function of 5-HT on the GABAergic neurons is altered in NaSal-induced tinnitus. This evidence concerns the gene HTR5A and Tinnitus.
