On multivariate analysis, KIF20A nuclear staining remained associated with poor survival after correcting for tumour stage and lymph-node involvement (P=0.047, relative risk=2.47 for overall survival and P=0.037, relative risk=2.767 for disease-specific survival, respectively) (Supplementary Figure S12), supporting that KIF20A nuclear score is a prognostic marker independent of the clinicopathological parameters examined.
