The results clearly indicate that, as with tumor thickness and the presence of ulceration, which have been widely accepted as independent prognostic factors for survival in patients with melanoma (24), NRP1 expression is an independent prognostic factor for overall (HR, 0.58; 95% CI, 0.35–0.99; P=0.04), and disease-specific 10-year survival (HR, 0.4.7; 95% CI, 0.25–0.89; P=0.02; Table II). Here, NRP1 is linked to melanoma.
