In addition, NRP1 expression was higher in melanomas with ulceration (median 8), compared with that in melanomas with no ulceration (median 6; P=0.004; Fig. 3E), which is in accordance with the χ2 test results, indicating that high NRP1 expression was observed in 76% of melanomas with ulceration, compared with 52% of melanomas with no ulceration (P=0.004; Fig. 3F, Table I).
