H19 and cancer: Loss of imprinting at the H19 locus in paternal allele results in biallelic expression and, therefore, elevated H19 levels in a wide range of cancers (Kondo et al., 1995; Hibi et al., 1996; Kim et al., 1998; el-Naggar et al., 1999; Ariel et al., 2000; Müller et al., 2000; Kim et al., 2002; Lottin et al., 2002; Ulaner et al., 2003).
