In earlier work, we reported a causative relationship between mutations in exon 5 of CHRNA4 (the nAChR α4-subunit coding gene) and the autosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy (ADNFLE) - a rare seizure disorder that is frequently associated with neurocognitive deficits or psychiatric affections [11-14]. This evidence concerns the gene CHRNA4 and autosomal dominant nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy.
