The efficacy of BCL2 inhibitors in BC CML has recently been suggested also in other studies, which have shown that the inhibition of Bcl-2/Bcl-xL induce apoptosis of quiescent CML progenitor cells21 and that the combination of TKIs and BCL2 inhibitors may have synergistic effects in TKI-resistant patients.22 The gene discussed is BCL2; the disease is chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive.
