MLKL and neoplasm: With regard to the question whether necroptosis is beneficial or detrimental for tumor growth, Colbert and coworkers have recently demonstrated that in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, patients with low tumoral MLKL expression have a poor prognosis [49], indicating that high levels of MLKL expression (and thus susceptibility to necroptosis) are beneficial for patients and detrimental for tumors.
