Dong et al (2013) [50] showed that the inhibition of COX-2 as well the antagonism of the TP receptor restore the impaired ACh-induced vasodilatation in renal artery of ovariectomized rats, suggesting an involvement of COX-2 and TP receptor on ROS generation and endothelial dysfunction triggered by estrogen deficiency. The gene discussed is PTGS2; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
