FBLN5 and neoplasm: Further analysis of an independent set of 30 matched tumor and normal pairs showed a significant (P = 0.0235) association of fibulin-5 promoter methylation and β-catenin expression, with 76.9% (10/13) of tumors having fibulin-5 promoter methylation and nuclear β-catenin staining, compared to 35.3% (6/17) lacking fibulin-5 promoter methylation but expressing nuclear β-catenin (Fig. 2E).
