Second, both miR-200a and miR-200b subfamilies share the negative regulatory function on ZEB1/2 but only miR-200b subfamily suppressed HCC growth and migration, which implies that mechanisms in addition to the well-characterized miR-200s/ZEB1/2/E-cadherin axis may be involved to empower tumor suppressive functions specific to the miR-200b subfamily in HCC.
