CD4 and malaria: In this study, peripheral blood and serum of P. falciparum infected individuals suffering from acute uncomplicated malaria were obtained to determine i) level of CD4+ lymphocytes, ii) IgG sero-reactivity to antigens of lysed parasitized erythrocytes and synthetic polypeptides representing merozoite proteins GLURP, HRP II and MSP3 all of which are important parasite antigens or vaccine candidate molecules [16, 22].
