Further studies are crucial to identify the chlamydial factor interacting with EphA2 as well as to unravel the downstream targets of EphA2 upon Chlamydia infection, which benefits Chlamydia. It will be worthy to further unravel the complexity of inclusion-associated cell surface receptors that may offer new relevant targets for future anti-chlamydial therapies. Here, EPHA2 is linked to chlamydia infectious disease.
