Analyses of RNA sequencing data of this study shows that upregulation of CD33 gene expression, which is associated with Alzheimer's disease susceptibility55, also occurs in MEPs under hypoxia (3.1-fold, false discovery rate (FDR)=0.0002, Fisher's exact test) and in M1 relative to M2 macrophages (2-fold, FDR=0.012, Fisher's exact test). This evidence concerns the gene CD33 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
