Interestingly, glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide GIP showed a delayed plasma clearance in NASH subjects in response to an OLTT as compared to control subjects (Musso et al. 2009), which was recently confirmed in subjects with MetS compared to healthy subjects (Kardinaal et al. unpublished work). The gene discussed is GIP; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis.
