We previously reported that upregulation of metastasis-associated in colon cancer-1 (MACC1) predicts a poor clinical outcome for patients with GC, and that MACC1 promotes GC cell proliferation and invasion by inducing the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) through activation of the hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)/c-Met signaling pathway [14]. The gene discussed is MET; the disease is gastric cancer.
