The frequency of Vα7.2+CD8+ T cells (MAIT cells) was significantly lower in HIV/TB co-infected patients under treatment (median, 5.6%; range, 0.28–16.7; P = 0.05) and HIV/TB co-infected naive treatment patients (median, 6.8%; range, 0.56–13.9; P = 0.05) when compared to HCs (median, 11.1%; range, 6.8–15.3) (data is not shown).
