CD8A and tuberculosis: Interestingly, we also observed a significant decrease of CD8+Vα7.2+ MAIT cells co-expressing CD161 among HIV-infected treatment naïve patients (median, 15.7%; range, 4.2–65.2; P = 0.05), HIV/TB co-infected treatment naïve patients (median, 17,8%; range, 0.7–41.8; P = 0.001) and HIV/TB co-infected patients under treatment (median, 20.6%; range, 1.6–63.7; P = 0.05) as compared to HCs (median, 49.0%; range, 5.3–71.9) (Fig 4A and 4B).
