Exposure of NPC to IL-6 resulted in decreased number of Tuj-1-positive cells (from 41% ± 6.4% in untreated cells to 22.39% ± 5.2% in IL-6-treated cells, p < 0.05), while the number of GFAP-positive cells increased (from 5.41% ± 1.3% in untreated cells to 14.51% ± 5.3% in IL-6 treated cells, p < 0.05) (Figure 4B). Here, GFAP is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
